Missions

When our Lord Jesus Christ gave the Great Commission to the church in Matthew 28: 18-20, it was obvious that His plan was for the gospel to be proclaimed throughout the entire world. As the early church evangelized throughout their world, local congregations were organized and churches became the framework through which God executed His plan. His plan today has not varied it continues to include the planting of New Churches and that those who have truly believed in Him would also become His disciples.

After 2,000 years of missionary effort, fulfilling the Great Commission has gradually come to include anything ministry-oriented, but the priority is not that of world evangelism and church planting. And yet that is exactly what is needed most in the 21st century.
Here at Trinity Baptist Church our priority is to “keep the main thing the main thing.” Our church was established in 1966 as a direct result of a Send the Light Missionary Conference under the leadership of Dr. Ralph Sexton, Sr. There is still “a call that comes ringing o’er the restless wave, send the light, send the blessed gospel light.” Our mandate has not changed! Therefore, we are committed to follow our Lord’s command.

Go teach all nations the Gospel.
Go baptize those who believed the Gospel.
Go teach them all things He has commanded us in the Gospel.

This is a life time task that we cannot and must not ignore; these words came from our commander and chief who has promised to be with us and to enable us to fulfill His commission.
